Auchlin SA, founded in 1945, works from La Neuveville for the watchmaking, jewelry and other high-precision sectors. \n<\/strong>Certainly yes, although the origins of watchmaking go back a long time ago to Germany. (…)<\/p>\n

At the EPHJ trade exhibition, are you closer to the people of Neuch\u00e2tel or the people of Jura?
\n<\/strong>Is this a trick question? We are all from the Jura Mountains, where talent, know-how and skills are concentrated.<\/p>\n

Do you lead a municipality like you lead a company?
\n<\/strong>Passion, commitment and perseverance are required for both activities. However, the constraints are quite different, as is the speed with which decisions are taken and applied.<\/p>\n

Do politics and suppliers to the watch industry go hand in hand?
\n<\/strong>Rather, the question is whether a volunteer commitment is compatible with a professional activity? It requires mastery, a certain juggling skill, flexibility and a good amount of tiredness resistance…<\/p>\n

Do the convictions of the politician clash with the realities of the boss? For example, paternity vacation?

Polishing for more than 75 years. The expertise concentrated in Auchlin SA is the heritage of a workshop founded in 1945 by Marius Auchlin. Since 2001, the company and its twenty employees have had their own factory. Here, the art of polishing is being perpetuated, this \"made-to-measure\" approach that turns a requirement into specific methods. Each material requires its own solutions and tools. It' s amazing to realize that Swiss watchmaking's prestige is rooted in these embellishments, which sometimes cannot even be seen! Polishing by hand, piece by piece, or via the secret \"mixtures\" of deburring in which the sometimes tiny components are slowly mixed. The bluing of screw heads or whole elements, is also part of our expertise.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

In watchmaking and in politics, how do you get respect as a woman?<\/strong>
\nBy respecting yourself and having self confidence, which is the same for every single person.<\/p>\n

If I tell you “Fabrique du Grenier”<\/em>, what do you answer?<\/strong>
\n“Erismann-Schinz”<\/em>, a time when “streams”<\/em> of workers joined this factory located in the center of La Neuveville to produce all kinds of watchmaking components.<\/p>\n

Funny, no watchmaking in your\u00a0Art and History<\/a>\u00a0Museum?<\/strong>
\nThere are remarkable collections between Bienne, La Chaux-de-Fonds and Le Locle, it’s hard to compete. But why not a temporary exhibition dedicated to the know-how of the watchmaking subcontracting industry, I will mention it to our curator, I swear!<\/p>\n

Watchmaking has ennobled its crafts. The “little hands”<\/em> have become “golden fingers”<\/em>. As for the art of polishing, there is still a long way to go, right?<\/strong>
\nI hope this is a provocation… I can only invite you to discover our golden, platinum and diamond fingers…<\/p>\n

Are there any materials that cannot be polished?<\/strong><\/p>\n
