The latest chronograph from Swiss watchmaker Certina moves easily from one world to another. Its design is inspired by a model from the 1960s, but its heart beats to the rhythm of a state-of-the-art automatic movement with a silicon balance spring. The cushion-shaped case makes it a stylish accessory, while its chronograph functionality, water resistance up to 20 bar and the unidirectional rotating bezel testify to genuine sportiness. Inspired by heroes from the past<\/strong><\/p>\n

This timepiece, which goes back to the DS Chronograph Automatic 1968, carries a legendary name: at the end of the 1960s the DS Argonaut caused a sensation with its striking case and robust workmanship. Inspired by this model, the Swiss watchmaker has developed a worthy successor that would cut a fine figure in any tale of mythical heroes. The DS Chronograph Automatic 1968 is presented in a cushion-shaped stainless steel case (43.5 mm x 43.5 mm) with a black PVD surface.<\/p>\n

Sapphire crystal on the front and back of the watch provide optimal clarity and legibility. A round sapphire ring, fitted with a black\/white scale printed from beneath, lends visual depth to the unidirectional rotating bezel. And thanks to their Super-LumiNova\u00ae coating, the sharply angled hands and indexes stand out clearly against the black dial even in the dark.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Functionality and resistance<\/strong><\/p>\n

An elegant vintage style is only one of the many facets of the new DS Chronograph Automatic 1968. Another is its sporty character, underscored, for example, by the 30-minute counter at 3 o\u2019clock and complemented by the central stop seconds and a small seconds at 9 o\u2019clock. The striking screw-down crown and water resistance up to 20 bar (200 m) contribute to enhanced robustness. The matt black leather strap with white decorative stitching \u2013 easily exchanged thanks to the Certina quick-change system \u00ad\u2013 offers additional safety and comfort. Along with the black version, a stainless steel edition with orange accents on the dial and a black and white striped NATO strap made from recycled #tide ocean material\u00ae is also available.<\/p>\n

A calm and steady heartbeat<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ticking tirelessly inside the watch is the A05.H31 automatic (self-winding) movement with a 60-hour power reserve. \u00a0It is equipped with a silicon balance spring whose innovative material protects it against the everyday enemies of mechanical rate precision: magnetic fields, changes in temperature and shocks have no effect on its steady reliability.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

The Swiss watchmaker Certina has taken this maxim to heart and created a new, thoroughly feminine collection presenting overall harmony across diverse components. The interplay of different textures and colours, with COSC-certified quartz movements, scratch-resistant ceramic and a variety of straps, offers unlimited possibilities to express one\u2019s own style \u2013 in a perfectly harmonious fashion, of course.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

A balanced design<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new DS-6 Lady unleashes its potential. The starting point for its diverse incarnations is always a round, 35 mm stainless steel case with alternately satin-brushed and polished surfaces. Its sophisticated architecture provides visual depth: a high rehaut adds another level to the white, black or dark blue dial. It also brings colour into play \u2013 whether classic black, white or in refined bi-colour combinations.<\/p>\n

Six Arabic numerals, slim hands and indexes, and the date at 6 o\u2019clock complete the simple elegance of the look. The hour and minute hands are coated with the proven Super-LumiNova\u00ae luminous material, for optimal legibility even in the dark. The straps \u2013 in steel and ceramic or an especially sustainable material based on organic raw materials and recycled PET \u2013 are easily exchanged thanks to a quick-change system.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
