Cette fantaisie anime l\u2019Arceau depuis 1978, lorsque Henri d\u2019Origny aper\u00e7oit une montre dont la moiti\u00e9 se cache sous une feuille. L\u2019id\u00e9e l\u2019amuse: au diable la sym\u00e9trie parfaite, son Arceau n\u2019aura qu\u2019une seule attache ! Il la voudra en forme d\u2019\u00e9trier, \u00e9voquant l\u2019ascendance \u00e9questre d\u2019Herm\u00e8s Sellier. Et l\u2019objet, intemporel, deviendra l\u2019une des signatures esth\u00e9tiques de son horlogerie. Pr\u00e8s de 45 ans plus tard, ce discret coup de ma\u00eetre redevient la toile d\u2019une nouvelle fantaisie horlog\u00e8re.\u00a0L\u2019Arceau Herm\u00e8s story joue avec le temps, d\u00e9passe les modes. L\u2019histoire est n\u00e9e du crayon virevoltant du dessinateur anglais John Burton. L\u2019homme a r\u00e9cemment sign\u00e9 le carr\u00e9 Herm\u00e8s story dans la collection printemps \u00e9t\u00e9 2022. Il y r\u00e9interpr\u00e8te les usages des r\u00e9seaux sociaux, cet art si singulier de la mise en sc\u00e8ne, un univers d\u00e9cal\u00e9 qu\u2019il plonge sous le regard d\u2019une faune amus\u00e9e par l\u2019exercice du selfie. La girafe a mis son plus beau n\u0153ud papillon, le toucan son haut-de-forme et la tortue son chapeau \u2013 un chapeau melon du so british John Burton, il va sans dire! Au centre de la sc\u00e8ne, une cavali\u00e8re sur un cheval de bois en tenue d\u2019apparat capture cette improbable r\u00e9union animali\u00e8re, dont s\u2019\u00e9chappe d\u00e9j\u00e0 quelques likes.<\/p>\n

De ces animaux fantastiques, les deux montres Arceau Herm\u00e8s story saisissent l\u2019essence. La premi\u00e8re version, limit\u00e9e et num\u00e9rot\u00e9e \u00e0 12 exemplaires, fait la part belle au tigre, r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en marqueterie de bois. Le f\u00e9lin aux yeux turquoise marie prunier, tulipier, fr\u00eane-olivier, \u00e9rable et sycomore en 290 pi\u00e8ces de bois patiemment d\u00e9coup\u00e9es, teintes et assembl\u00e9es une \u00e0 une. \u00c0 lui seul, le tigre exige cinq jours de travail pour en restituer toutes les nuances et subtilit\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Il n\u2019en faut pas moins pour donner vie au bestiaire qui l\u2019entoure: papillons, colibri, tortue et paon offrent un relief in\u00e9dit au cadran par leur applique en or, grav\u00e9e et peinte \u00e0 la main. \u00c0 leurs c\u00f4t\u00e9s, lapin et mante religieuse sont en peinture miniature, dont les diff\u00e9rentes couches leur conf\u00e8reront elles aussi un subtil relief obtenu apr\u00e8s 5 jours de d\u00e9votion artisanale. Cette composition ludique mais technique aura pour cadre une bo\u00eete en or rose de 38 mm, dot\u00e9e d\u2019une lunette sertie de 82 diamants.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Autre sc\u00e8ne, autres m\u00e9tiers: une version en or blanc, limit\u00e9e et num\u00e9rot\u00e9e \u00e0 24 pi\u00e8ces fait la part belle \u00e0 la peinture miniature sur nacre. Vernie, polie et adoucie \u00e0 la main, elle se pare d\u2019une vingtaine de couches de teintes multiples pour en r\u00e9v\u00e9ler les nuances et reflets. Huit jours et quelques passages au four plus tard, la magie op\u00e8re: sur son cheval de bois, la princesse se trouve au c\u0153ur d\u2019une ronde animale o\u00f9 toucan, tortue, paon, hirondelle et lapin se disputent la meilleure place pour un selfie champ\u00eatre.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
