Could watchmaking expertise reshape care technologies? The ambition bearing the BEMRC<\/a> signature, alias the Bureau d’\u00c9tude M\u00e9canique Romuald Cappelle, finds itself a finalist in the “Watch Medtech Challenge<\/em><\/a>” 2026, organised for the EPHJ<\/a> fair by the Inartis Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Mechanical safety, the obvious choice<\/strong><\/p>\n

The invention, as technical as it is symbolic, consists of a mechanical syringe pump “of watchmaking precision<\/em>“, designed to operate without any reliance on electricity. An innovative approach that meets the needs of certain environments where robustness, autonomy and mechanical reliability may prove decisive.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the principles of regulation, precision and miniaturisation drawn from watchmaking\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

he concept draws directly on watchmaking: the energy of a spring, released slowly, drives the piston of a syringe\u2026 a simple, reliable solution that is entirely independent of any energy source other than manual winding. It concretely illustrates those ever-stronger bridges that exist between the watchmaking and medtech industries, particularly in French-speaking Switzerland where technical skills flow naturally between the sectors.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

20 years of pure discretion under the spotlight of a competition<\/strong><\/p>\n

An exceptional project calls for a particular context: BEMRC celebrates its 20 years of existence in 2026! For two decades, the Valais-based company from the Sierre area has been developing, in complete discretion, engineering and design solutions for projects combining high precision, industrial innovation and cross-cutting mastery of technologies.<\/p>\n

Suddenly, the limelight! Here is BEMRC, a finalist in the “Watch Medtech Challenge<\/em>“! “Beyond the project itself, this type of competition is essential for innovation structures like BEMRC,<\/em>” notes Romuald Cappelle. “The sector is largely governed by NDAs (<\/em>Ed.: non-disclosure agreements), confidential developments and patents. It is often impossible for us to communicate publicly about our developments and show what we can do for clients.
