The Zurich specialist retailer is the second Swiss partner of the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned programme. Through this partnership, Beyer customers now receive a certificate confirming the authenticity and quality of the watch when they purchase a second-hand Pre-Loved Rolex.

Rolex conducts a comprehensive search to verify that the model details completely match the records in the Rolex archive and that the watch has not been reported stolen. As well as being over three years old, it must have been sold by an official Rolex retailer. If all these conditions are met, the watch receives a special seal that identifies it as a Rolex-approved and registered model. The Rolex Certified Pre-Owned warranty card issued at the time of sale provides customers with a two-year international warranty.

Beyer Vintage & Pre-Loved specialist Dörte Herold denies that anything will change in pricing as a result of this Certified Pre-Owned certificate: “The price of certifying younger models won’t be of any consequence. For older watches, it may vary more, depending on the amount of research involved. But even then, the price premium will hardly be significant. Customers, however, stand to gain the assurance that their vintage watch is one hundred percent genuine”.

Seal for additional security

Beyer has been offering so-called Pre-Loved models since 1965 – including the coveted Rolex wristwatches that are built to last. On the growing and therefore increasingly complex second-hand market, Rolex watches are among the most copied. As an official Rolex Service Centre, Beyer has long had the ability to conduct research and the expertise to meticulously check every watch for authenticity. With the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned seal, the specialist retailer now offers its clientele an even greater level of confidence.

As Hanspeter Pieth, Beyer CEO, confirms: “The launch of the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned programme is an extremely pleasing development. It is an exceptional initiative that Rolex has launched in close cooperation with its trusted partner. With a proud history as a long-standing partner of Rolex, we take great pleasure in actively supporting this project”.
