Nearby, three circular buildings: a laboratory, a training centre and a museum. This complete ecosystem welcomes watchmaking subcontractors and Swiss brands eager to secure, less than 1h30 from Hong Kong, a strategically well-placed outpost to establish and grow their presence at the heart of the Middle Kingdom. The icing on the cake: the financial regime of this hub remains under Hong Kong’s economic logic, better suited to foreign investment and capital movement. Such is the wild idea of watchmaking entrepreneur Eddie Leung.

Sino-Swiss Inno Parc, the new watchmaking “city”

In China, everything moves fast! And so the complex, whose foundation stone was laid in 2021, has already risen from the ground. Invited to see it for myself, just after EPHJ 2025, I joined a small group of Swiss journalists in the GBA (Greater Bay Area), a region regarded as a global economic hub, bringing together Hong Kong, Macao and nine cities of Guangdong province.

The energy is at its peak, and so are training and events, with no fewer than 10 buildings already well and truly built. They are dedicated to hosting local subcontractors too, to spaces for rent and for sale, to hospitality and business accommodation and, above all, to training, research and cultural transmission thanks to a future museum of time.

Watchelly: 750,000 Swiss made watches!

Eddie Leung (photo) is one of the three great entrepreneurs of the Chinese watchmaking sector: his Dailywin Group, founded in 1979, manufactures among other things around 4.5 million watches, including, from its facilities in Switzerland operating under the Watchelly entity, roughly 750,000 eligible for the Swiss made label, under the close supervision of the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry and in partnership with the leading Swiss movement makers.
