Swiss-made, they remove the need for regular battery replacement! Ronda, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of precision mechanical and electronic movements, is presenting at the EPHJ trade exhibition in Geneva the new Solartech 2000 series, a collection of quartz chronograph movements powered by solar energy.

Follow the sun: an eternal source of power

The Solartech Series 2000 Chronograph calibers take the hassle and expense out of battery replacement with rechargeable batteries and solar cells that capture both sunlight and indoor light. As well as delivering reliable, accurate performance, even without regular exposure to light, these movements significantly reduce battery waste.

The Solartech Series 2000 Chronographs also feature RONDA’s innovative QuickStart Function technology, which ensures that in the event that the battery’s power reserve is discharged, the movements will spring into life again after just one minute of exposure to sunlight. Assuming sunny conditions, the battery will have enough power to run for a day after three minutes’ exposure to sunlight, and will reach its full five-month capacity in 10 hours.

Flexible, compatible, reliable

Solartech Series 2000 Chronograph calibers have been designed to minimize disruption to design and production schedules of watch manufacturers. They’re fully compatible with RONDA’s most trusted 5030.D and 5040.D chronographs, which means they can be adapted to existing models, saving on design time and reducing time to market.

RONDA’s innovative mono-solar cell technology adds further flexibility, giving designers the freedom to choose dial layouts and materials.

Ultimate battery protection: technology for a longer life

One of the many benefits of the Solartech Series 2000 of solar-powered chronograph movements is in the advanced technology developed to protect the battery from overcharging. Additional developments prevent deep discharge and sudden drops in performance. Together, these advances ensure reliability, accuracy and a long service life of the movement.

Seal of quality: Swiss Made

The Solartech Series 2000 Chronograph calibers are all engineered, produced and assembled by RONDA and carry the Swiss Made quality stamp. Each movement is passed through the ISO 9001 quality control system, ensuring the most rigorous quality standards.

From Fabien Schirmer, CEO of Ronda

“As a family-owned, independent company, it brings us great pleasure to introduce our clients to our next- generation Solartech Series 2000 Chronograph calibers. We’ve designed these innovative solar- powered movements to deliver maximum performance, without compromising on flexibility or cost.

The result is a suite of end-consumer-focused movements that are always ready to run with class- leading accuracy and reliability that can also be easily adapted to existing chronograph designs.

The Solartech Series 2000 Chronograph calibers are another symbol of RONDA’s commitment to providing our partners with high-quality movements that will bring their customers a lifetime of service and satisfaction.”
