Borne out of a shared passion for the wide open road and the thrill of new adventure by longtime friends Pietro Tomajer of The Limited Edition and Marco Borraccino of Singer Reimagined, the Flytrack On The Road edition is inspired by that great rite of passage which is the coast to coast road trip across the United States and borrows its name from the iconic 1950’s Kerouac novel.

A watch of striking aesthetics and cool, sleek styling, the Flytrack ‘On The Road’ sports an irresistible combination of vivid orange detail juxtaposed against a backdrop of matte black and anthracite grey, with the brushed and polished metal surfaces of its barrel-shaped case and the tight weave of its black textile strap further accentuating its sporty and highly technical personality.

Equipped with the proprietary Flytrack Calibre AG6364 manual winding movement, developed in association with Jean-Marc Wiederrecht and his team at Agenhor, with its central second hand which converts into an on-demand sixty-second flyback pointer with push-button instant reset, the Singer Reimagined Flytrack collection celebrates, in its very purest form, the most innovative and ingenious reinvention of the chronograph complication in its over two hundred year history.

Presented in an elaborate multi-part case, comprising a smoothly curved stainless steel body, whose circular brushed finish provides a contrast with its polished Grade 5 titanium bezel, crown, and single pusher, the Flytrack On The Road edition is a masterclass in modern-day design, being at the same time contemporary, yet clearly informed by the classic sports watch designs of the sixties and seventies.

A slender bezel profile means that the gently domed sapphire crystal spans right across the face of the watch, almost to the limits of the case. Beneath, the head-turning combination of the black, grey, and vivid orange, with powerful Super-LumiNova accents underpin the Flytrack On The Road’s imposing presence on the wrist.

With the absence of a conventional hour hand on the dial, if the Flytrack’s time display seems a little confusing at first glance, it is in fact intuitive and very easy to read. The segmented dial features a revolving matte black ceramic aluminum ring around its outer edge, with a luminous orange triangle to indicate the hours, providing crisp at-a-glance legibility in all light conditions. The orange rehaut which separates the inner and outer dial doubles as a reference for the hours as well as for the semi-skeletonized minute’s hand, which is also accented with a luminous orange insert.

About The Limited Edition

Established in 2015, under the direction of the luxury watch industry veteran and GPHG Academy Member Pietro Tomajer, The Limited Edition is dedicated solely to introducing the unique talents and exceptional craftsmanship of independent watchmakers, to a growing community of Connoisseur collectors around the world. As AHCI’s official partner, The Limited Edition champions the skills and individuality of these independent artisanal watchmakers, having seen this specialized sector shift steadily from the outer peripherals of the wider watch industry, moving ever more into the spotlight, and towards a massively increased awareness in recent years. Since its inception in 2015, The Limited Edition has curated a personally selected collection of beautiful and fascinating contemporary masterpieces from the most respected watchmakers of our time. Driven by an almost tangible passion, it continues to push the parameters of artistic creativity to ever-new heights.

The third hand is the Flytrack’s focal point and serves two purposes. In regular use, it can be used as a sweeping constant seconds pointer, complementing the minute and hour indicators, but by depressing the pusher at the two o’clock position the hand instantly resets to zero, and then, when the pusher is released, it takes off to time a short event of under sixty seconds. Not only that, but repeat the process, and via a heart-shaped cam the flyback pointer resets and restarts, enabling the on-demand timing of consecutive, back-to-back events.

On the underside of the watch, a sapphire case-back reveals the unique Singer AG6364 manual winding movement, which has been developed specifically for this collection by Singer and concept specialists Agenhor and is a direct descendent of the company’s Calibre 6361, which can count among its many accolades the Aiguille award in the hotly contested GPHG Chronograph category in 2018.

Running at 21,600 vib/h (3Hz), and boasting an impressive sixty hours of power reserve, the movement comprises 314 individual components, which are manufactured and finished to the uncompromising standards of haute horlogerie at Agenhor.

The Flytrack On The Road edition is manufactured in a strictly limited production of ten numbered pieces, with each example bearing a solid 18ct gold numeral which is embedded into the topside of the case, just off the five o’clock position. It is presented on a durable high-tech fabric strap with orange stitching which is secured on the wrist with a stainless steel folding clasp.

A fabulous piece of contemporary watch design and one of profound technical innovation the Flytrack On The Road edition is available to purchase exclusively through The Limited Edition.
