Under pressure from collectors, this “golden fingers” – the man who manipulates the world’s rarest and most exceptional watches for repair or overhaul at Phillips auctions – has just cracked. Nicolas Commergnat has designed and manufactured a rare timepiece, the vessel for a unique philosophy based on the concept of ” repairable in 50 years”. Each component has its own identity card, delivered with the watch as digital data on the blockchain!
Yet he has already pre-sold everything in the restricted world of leading collectors and merchants. Everything, or almost everything, since there are already waiting lists for the delivery of this Level One and for the next projects. Level 2, Level 3? Time will tell what happens next with this ‘no-brand’.
